Heidi Smith, PT has been practicing in outpatient orthopedics and sports medicine since 2006.

Heidi attended Clemson University where she graduated summa cum laud with a Bachelors in Health Science in 2002. She then went on to get her Masters in Physical therapy from the University of Florida in 2005.  She completed a year long mentorship in the Maitland approach to manual therapy early in her career and still uses a heavy manual based approach to treatment. Heidi has also since been certified in Dry Needling and has taken countless courses on running injuries as well as being certified as a kettlebell instructor.

Her approach to treatment is simple, identify the movement dysfunction and the patient’s goals, and develop a plan of care from there. The goal is truly to empower the patient to be able to treat themselves and prevent re-injury by allowing for (through manual therapy) and then teaching (through neuromuscular retraining) improved movement patterns. "Movement Made Easier".

Her passion is with treating and preventing injuries but also looking at the whole person for a more holistic healthy lifestyle approach. She believes in helping the body to heal itself rather than looking to surgery, injections or medications. Heidi enjoys working with runners and endurance athletes. She spent over a decade doing distance running events but has transitioned to more strength training these days. As the knowledge and research on strength and conditioning continues to improve and demonstrate how important strength and movement is for the body, so too has Heidi changed her focus and truly practices what she preaches. The "Find Your Fitness" page encourages you to find the type of strength, conditioning or movement classes that are right for you. This is such an important part of a healthy lifestyle and there are so many choices out there that it is sometimes hard to know where to start.

She is extremely passionate, thorough  and caring when it comes to treating her patients, and practices with the utmost integrity when it comes to developing each patient’s plan of care.

Happy with treatment you’ve received from Heidi in the past, ask her about her patient referral incentive program.
