ABOUT
HEIDI
SMITH
Heidi Smith, PT has been practicing in outpatient orthopedics and sports medicine since 2006.
Heidi attended Clemson University where she graduated summa cum laud with a Bachelors in Health Science in 2002. She then went on to get her Masters in Physical therapy from the University of Florida in 2005. She completed a year long mentorship in the Maitland approach to manual therapy early in her career and still uses a heavy manual based approach to treatment. Heidi has also since been certified in Dry Needling and has taken countless courses on running injuries as well as being certified as a kettlebell instructor.
Her approach to treatment is simple, identify the movement dysfunction and the patient’s goals, and develop a plan of care from there. The goal is truly to empower the patient to be able to treat themselves and prevent re-injury by allowing for (through manual therapy) and then teaching (through neuromuscular retraining) improved movement patterns. "Movement Made Easier".
Her passion is with treating and preventing injuries but also looking at the whole person for a more holistic healthy lifestyle approach. She believes in helping the body to heal itself rather than looking to surgery, injections or medications. Heidi enjoys long distance running and strength training and is passionate about making healthier choices when it comes to eating, drinking and sleeping! Heidi truly practices what she preaches.

She is extremely passionate, thorough and caring when it comes to treating her patients, and practices with the utmost integrity when it comes to developing each patient’s plan of care.
